Happy Birthday to ME!

This year...

No birthday dinner
No birthday cake or ice cream

Morning sickness has taken over! It started up just before Christmas. I was lucky to have gotten through cooking for Christmas Eve. After that, it went downhill. I cannot smell food, look at food, or even think of food. It all brings about the same result.

I am quite sad not being able to enjoy and indulge in all the yummy, delicious visions before me.

We will just have to celebrate when my stomach is more agreeable.

Santa Claus Came to Town

Savannah ran into our room very early on Christmas day. She was so excited!

The previous night, she was worried that Santa wasn't going to come to our house and deliver presents. The reason being that they did not write him their letters this year. She wasn't falling for my explanations that Santa was still coming, and that he knew exactly what they wanted--I had gotten his emergency contact information and emailed him everything he needed to know.

Now, here she was, sitting on our bed, describing to me what she found when she went downstairs to check their stockings.

The brownies were gone! All Santa left behind were tiny crumbs and a napkin with evidence that he wiped his mouth.

THE NEWS IS OUT!

On our way to having a third of a dozen kids!

Surprise for Christmas

Two more weeks before Christmas. Hmmm...my monthly visitor still has not come by. So, I decided to check. The results had me stunned for a few minutes. I sat there, just staring at it. PREGNANT! OH BOY!

I wrestled with the thought of running back into our room to announce the news. I could hear the girls all giggling as they played games on my iPhone. Robert was still snoring. Instead, I quietly walked in and sat at my desk. I pulled down the book of names, where I had jotted down our previous name choices when we found out we were pregnant with each of our girls. I started to browse through the girl names again.
It was like a flashback to another Christmas 6 years ago. Robert and I found out that we were going to have our first baby. We kept it a secret from our families for a week and surprised them all on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Now, here we are, another Christmas surprise waiting to be announced. Seeing that this is going to be the last baby in our growing family, I thought it would be most fitting to have a replay of that special Christmas. This time, it meant keeping it a secret from Robert too.

I'm not very good at keeping secrets from Robert though. I tell him EVERYTHING! So, I was only able to keep the news to myself for a week. Besides, he seemed to have some sort of "Preggie Radar". He kept throwing out "baby" comments all week, and I did all I could to bite my tongue and not say anything back that might give my secret away. Well, it turned out that he had known that same weekend! Of course I had to take a picture of my pregnancy test result, which was what he saw while searching for a picture of the girls on my iPhone.
