My mom is not big on parties. She doesn't mind being pampered and cooked for--even though you'll still find her in the kitchen cooking something or helping with some cleaning; she just doesn't like to be in the spotlight. What's important to her is to be with family, and know that she is loved and appreciated.
Mom's special requests for her birthday was carrot cake and NO PRESENTS. Flowers were okay, especially since we don't seem to do too well on keeping them alive for a whole year. So, for Mom's birthday, she was surrounded by family and friends, flowers, and lots of love.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM! We love you so much!
