I love summer! When I was younger, I looked forward to the months of NO SCHOOL, sleeping in, staying up late, and just hanging out with my friends. Before any of us were driving, we'd spend all day riding our bikes, walking to the mall, playing tennis at the park, and going to each other's houses. It got even better once we had cars because we could go to the beach and walk around Main Street.
Things change when you start working. There is no such thing as a summer vacation. No matter what month it is, you still have to wake up to get to work on time and clock in those hours. What I miss most about working at PAC is having paid vacation time. I always looked forward to the Winter, Spring and Summer break, plus the added bonus of having the week of the 4th of July off.
Summer is quite different now that I have two little girls to show the world to. I want them to experience the great outdoors, build sandcastles and frolic in the ocean waves, stay up late and gaze at the stars, cuddle up infront of a bonfire, make S'mores, go to the park, swim, go to outdoor concerts, enjoy a picnic, and much much more.
So far, this summer means going to the Woodbridge Lagoon, watching FREE movies at the Spectrum (or any other Regal Cinema), going to the park, feeding the ducks, and swimming at the pool in Grampa's and Gramma's neighborhood. Best of all, during those really hot summer nights, you can find us at Piccomolo enjoying gelato.
